Q. Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available for all our tenants at a discounted rate of $35.00/month. There is also a $25.00 deposit towards the parking pass. At the end of your lease, the parking pass is submitted to our office and we return your deposit. While most homes do have parking spots, parking may be unavailable at your specific location. In this case, we offer a spot at one of our other properties.

Q. How do I sign up for utilities?
During the lease signing, we review your responsibilities in terms of the utilities. To set up an account, call Kingston Utilities at (613) 546-0000 or visit their website one week prior to your move in date. You can use their online forms to open or close an account and arrange a method of payment such as pre-authorized payments through your personal bank account.

Q. How do I hook up my internet, cable and phone?
Each house is appropriately wired for cable, phone and internet connection. To set up an account, contact Cogeco.

Q. How do I pay my rent?
During the meeting to sign your lease, payment arrangements are made. You can pay via Visa, Mastercard, or Debit. The preferred method is submitting post-dated cheques for the duration of the lease.
Q. Am I responsible for Garbage and Recycling?

Yes, you are responsible for proper storage and disposal of garbage and recycling.

The City of Kingston currently has a 2-bag garbage limit. More than 2 bags will require a bag tag at a cost of $2/tag which can be purchased at the AMS, Town-Gown Office; City Hall, Counter Street Municipal Office; or Kingston Area Recycling Centre.

If you need an extra blue or grey box, purchase one at the Town Gown Office. Broken blue or grey bins can be replaced free of charge if you take the broken pieces to the office.

Q. What if something needs to be fixed?

HIGHPOINT prides itself on our customer service. Emergencies are addressed rapidly and efficiently through our repair staff, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We acknowledge non-emergency maintenance requests within 24 hours of receipt and follow up with status update reports.

The following are considered emergency requests:

  • No heat, water, or power in your unit
  • Large leak, flood, or sewage issue
  • Lock out or lock problem
  • Leaking roof/ceiling
